Toothless Grin

It's the danged cutest little toothless grin that I ever did see!

When P was 1, she bounced in the tub & slipped & bashed her front tooth. Yeah... It died. Literally. You may remember it being gray for years...
Took her to the dentist, said they wouldn't do anything about it then since it was just dead, not infected. Told me to keep an eye on it as it may become infected & abscess. Just as we were nearing the finish line at 5.5 years of age, she would have lost that tooth soon anyway, I noticed a less than pretty little bump on her gums above the tooth. After a ring to my sweet sister in-love who I call for everything & just so happens to have been a dental hygienist in her pre-mommin days, confirmed my greatest fear not really, but I was hoping for better news.
We made an appointment, took her in, found that not only the tooth, but the one next to it had fallen victim to the blasted infection as well. Both needed pulled. Music to her ears.... SAY WHAAAA?! "That means the tooth fairy is coming!!!" She COULD. NOT. WAIT. When Dr. Byrnes explained that we would need to come back & that nothing was being pulled right then & there, "AAAAAWE MAN!"
So, to home we headed.
Yesterday was the day. Arrived promptly at 10:30. I was not allowed back & for good reason, a bit of a panic attack was being had on my part, complete with hyperventilation & a heart pounding so hard it could have jumped right out of my chest. Thankfully I was able to keep my self together until P was gone. Not but two minutes later, I was informed that she was already numb & would be done shortly. I took a quick trip to the potty & guess who was waiting with a smile full of gauze for me to return? That's right. My little champion. Not a danged peep was made nor a tear shed.

I learn more & more from this small human each day. She is nothing short of incredible.

Of course, the tooth fairy did make her way to Pollys pillow & was so surprised to find not one, but two teeth, she left a whole lotta moolah! Did you know that tooth fairy money is sparkly?

Here she is, pretty Polly, complete with the danged cutest little toothless grin that I ever did see. Plus a glittery loot.
